Chitarrista e compositore, musicista dedito all'improvvisazione e alla composizione, con una particolare attenzione alle forme ed ai linguaggi jazzistici e più marcatamente contemporanei.

 

Si è esibito in Francia, Belgio, Olanda, Germania, Austria, Slovenia, Serbia, Croazia, presso gli Istituti Italiani di Cultura di Parigi, Amsterdam, Bruxelles e Vienna, nonché in numerosi Festival, Jazz Club e Teatri italiani ed esteri come: Umbria Jazz, J.A.M., Valsugana Jazz Festival, Valjevo Jazz Festival, Porgy & Bess (Vienna), B Flat (Berlino), A-Trane (Berlino), ZWE (Vienna), Il Torrione Ferrara Jazz Club, Milestone Piacenza Jazz Club, Bergamo Jazz Club, Barga Jazz Club, Le Scimmie, Rovigo Jazz Club, Jazz it Fest, Musica Futura, Venezze Jazz Festival (con Maurizio Giammarco), Delta Blues (con Gegè Telesforo e Charlie Wood), Fara Music Jazz Live, Teatro Duse (Bologna), Teatro Carcano (Milano), Teatro Storchi (Modena) e altri.

 

È fondatore e co-leader di varie formazioni di stampo jazzistico e non, spesso atte a proporre musiche originali, quali: Marbles (con Edoardo Marraffa al sax), Circles 44 (con Massimiliano Amatruda al piano e Andrea Grillini alla batteria), In a maze (solo performance), Joseph Circelli Vinkel Trio (con Simone Di Benedetto al contrabbasso e Riccardo La Foresta alla batteria), Omit Five (con Mattia Dalla Pozza al sax alto, Filippo Vignato al trombone, Rosa Brunello al contrabbasso e Simone Sferruzza alla batteria), Off Lines (con Federico Pierantoni al trombone, Christian Pepe al contrabbasso e Simone Sferruzza alla batteria) Ensemble Harmonique e altre.

Con il gruppo Omit Five si aggiudica il 1° premio del “Barga Jazz Contest 2011” e del “Premio Nazionale delle Arti 2011 – Sezione Jazz” (indetto dal MIUR) ed il 2° premio del “Chicco Bettinardi Jazz Contest 2012” e del “Porsche Live, Giovani e Jazz 2012”.

Con la stessa formazione ha all’attivo due pubblicazioni discografiche: “Omit Five” (Caligola Records, 2012) e “Speak Random” (Slam Productions, UK 2013). Con il quartetto Off Lines è tra i gruppi vincitori del “Conad Jazz Contest 2013” ed ha partecipato alle fasi finali del “Chicco Bettinardi Jazz Contest 2013”, pubblicando i Cd: “Rasoterra” (Notami Jazz, 2013) e “Contest Chicco Bettinardi – X Edizione Collection” (Level 49, 2013). Con il Joseph Circelli Vinkel Trio è tra i vincitori del “Conad Jazz Contest 2014” ed ha partecipato al “Festival Nazionale dei Conservatori” classificandosi al 4° posto, riscuotendo ampi e positivi consensi dalla critica e dal pubblico.

Nel 2019 pubblica "In a maze", un album in guitar solo per l'etichetta discografica Solitunes Records, nello stesso anno si aggiudica il premio per la migliore esibizione live al "Lucania Original Soundtrack Contest 2019", mentre nel 2020 pubblica l'album "Cratere" con il trio Circles 44 (Aut Records).

Ha lavorato anche come chitarrista e co-arrangiatore per l’orchestra Ensemble Harmonique ed è stato menzionato dalla rivista specializzata “Musica Jazz” nella classifica miglior nuovo talento.

 

Ha conseguito nel 2009 e 2012 rispettivamente la Laurea di 1° e 2° livello in "Jazz, musiche improvvisate e musiche del nostro tempo", con il massimo dei voti e la lode presso i Conservatori di Ferrara e Rovigo.

Ha studiato con Sandro Gibellini, Antonio Cavicchi, Daniele Santimone, Roberto Spadoni, Ares Tavolazzi, Riccardo Chiarion, Marco Tamburini, Stefano Onorati, Marcello Tonolo, Stefano Bellon, Alberto Ambroselli. Ha frequentato masterclass sull'improvvisazione tenuti da Franco D'Andrea, John Abercrombie, Jaspar Blom, Edoardo Righini, Rachel Gould, Maarten Van Der Grinten.

Guitarist and composer, he focused on improvisation and composition, with particular attention to jazz and more markedly contemporary forms and languages.

With the Off Lines quartet he is among the winners of the "Conad Jazz Contest 2013" and participated in the final stages of the "Chicco Bettinardi Jazz Contest 2013", publishing the CDs: "Rasoterra" (Notami Jazz, 2013) and "Contest Chicco Bettinardi - X Edizione Collection" (Level 49, 2013). With the Joseph Circelli Vinkel Trio is among the winners of the "Conad Jazz Contest 2014" and has participated in the "National Conservatory Festival" ranking in 4th place, receiving wide and positive acclaim from critics and the public.

In 2019 he released "In a maze", a guitar solo album for the label Solitunes Records, in the same year he won the prize for the best live performance at the "Lucania Original Soundtrack Contest" while in 2020 he released the album "Cratere" with the Circles 44 trio, published by Aut Records.

He also worked as a guitarist and co-arranger for the Ensemble Harmonique orchestra and was mentioned by the specialized magazine "Musica Jazz" in the best new talent ranking.

 

In 2009 and 2012 respectively he graduated 1st and 2nd level degree in "Jazz and improvised music" with honors from the Conservatories of Ferrara and Rovigo.
